Our Mission

On the streets of Skid Row,
forgotten animals survive in the shadows.
We bring them into the light.

We’re not an adoption agency. We’re a frontline rescue operation — providing emergency medical care, daily sustenance, and unwavering support to the most vulnerable animals in Los Angeles’s most challenging urban environment.

Foster FAQ

Quick answers to the questions we hear most from new fosters.

No. Patience, a safe space, and a willingness to follow basic care guidance matter more than experience. We match animals to your comfort level and situation.
Skid Row PAWS helps with food, basic supplies, and medical coordination when available. You are never expected to cover vet bills for a foster animal without talking to us first.
It varies. Some placements are a weekend, some run several weeks, and some are longer. You set your availability on the application, and we only reach out with matches that fit it.
Tell us. Life happens, and no foster is ever stuck. We will work on moving the animal to another foster or arrangement as quickly as we can.
Often, yes. Fosters get first consideration when an animal in their care becomes available for adoption. Just let us know you are interested.
Usually. Tell us about your household on the application, and we will only match you with animals that are a good fit for your home.

Adoption Application

Complete the application below and our adoption team will review it and follow up with you. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.

By submitting this application I confirm the following: I agree to adopt the animal(s) and provide them with proper care. I will have them spayed and/or neutered and provide a receipt for the procedure. This adoption does not grant any breeding rights. I will contact Skid Row PAWS if any issues arise.
